You all know by now that I gain part of my instinct and knowledge through observation and then I use that in my sales and design work; here are some examples:

Customers usually go back to their original choice, not all the time but quite often. An example of this is the young lady I was working with lately on a diamond mounting. While we started with the split shank with trapezoids we progress to classic three stone mountings on to antique style after a couple of well spent hours she settles on her original choice, life comes full circle yet again. Like I said it happens all the time.
